This didn't quite live up to the hype for me, but it was still thought provoking, and a unique perspective on time travel。 3。5 This didn't quite live up to the hype for me, but it was still thought provoking, and a unique perspective on time travel。 3。5 。。。more

The only book that’s ever made me cry。 So beautiful and sweet in such a simple way, loved it :)

A sweet, joyful take on the magical realism trope of time travel。 Humorous in parts, too!

Its a very nice book, easy to read and emotional。 I think the translation makes it very "american" I expected another kind of language since it is originally Japanese。 Its a very nice book, easy to read and emotional。 I think the translation makes it very "american" I expected another kind of language since it is originally Japanese。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 sighhh, where do i even begin with this book! it is 100% an emotional rollercoaster。 the first story had to be my least favorite, it was stereotypical and old fashioned。 i will also say that the authors writing can come off as misogynistic at times, which i did not appreciate。 for example, Nagare says that going to the OBGYN is of a woman’s domain, which is just stupid。 i will also mention that sometimes this story feels more like a playwright at times?? it’s kinda weird but i only felt like tha sighhh, where do i even begin with this book! it is 100% an emotional rollercoaster。 the first story had to be my least favorite, it was stereotypical and old fashioned。 i will also say that the authors writing can come off as misogynistic at times, which i did not appreciate。 for example, Nagare says that going to the OBGYN is of a woman’s domain, which is just stupid。 i will also mention that sometimes this story feels more like a playwright at times?? it’s kinda weird but i only felt like that at certain points。 the most gut-wrenching story was definitely the mother and the child。 i had tears streaming down my face as i devoured the last pages。 so agonizingly beautiful。 i loved it。 another heartbreaking story was the sisters。 i found it odd that Hirai ended up going to her family’s inn at the end, it didn’t really seem like a happy ending。 i expected her to confront her grief, move on, and do what she loved, which was to run her bar。 even though there are some poorly written parts of the story, i still fell in love with it。 honestly, give it a chance。 don’t stop reading after the first story, it gets so much better。 。。。more

It was the worst book I've ever read。 It was so boring I literally had to force myself to finish it。 The book has so much potential but it was so badly written。 It was the worst book I've ever read。 It was so boring I literally had to force myself to finish it。 The book has so much potential but it was so badly written。 。。。more

3。5 stars。This was a short and very enjoyable read, but it definitely wasn't as impactful or sad as some people have made it out to be。 My favorite of the four short stories was definitely Husband and Wife。 I loved the themes through the different stories and I did recognize that some of them were very sad but it just didn't evoke the actual emotion out of me。 I think if they had been just a bit longer or explored a little further it could have, but I also really appreciate the format and length 3。5 stars。This was a short and very enjoyable read, but it definitely wasn't as impactful or sad as some people have made it out to be。 My favorite of the four short stories was definitely Husband and Wife。 I loved the themes through the different stories and I did recognize that some of them were very sad but it just didn't evoke the actual emotion out of me。 I think if they had been just a bit longer or explored a little further it could have, but I also really appreciate the format and length of them as is。 Very contradicting, but overall, I liked it and would highly recommend。 Also, LOVE the cover! 。。。more

Honestly, this book was cute。 That’s about it。 It was a good palette cleanser but there was nothing substantial about it。 I think the concept is super neat and I love how it was written。 It definitely reads more like a play than an actual book but even then, I think it was fitting。 It’s not the kind of book that draws you in and keeps you wanting more but if you’ve got some time to kill it’s a good choice。

● 3。75 stars ● That was an endearing, and heartbreaking at times, story。 I loved that the separate 'stories' all linked and revolved around the main characters who were all very well developed for about 200 pages! I wouldn't say the book was anything groundbreaking but the premise was definitely unique and it was well written。 It was a great short read and has gotten me out of a reading slump。 ● 3。75 stars ● That was an endearing, and heartbreaking at times, story。 I loved that the separate 'stories' all linked and revolved around the main characters who were all very well developed for about 200 pages!

The book being set almost exclusively within a small Japanese cafè really appealed to me, as did the selfishly long descriptions of the actions of pouring the coffee and the aroma and tastes。 Great lengths are taken to describe the welcoming and minimalist decor of the interior。 The characters in the novel are quite abrasive and generally give stark, monosyllabic dialogue which makes some of the back and forth conversations slightly challenging to gain insight into the characters。 However the bo The book being set almost exclusively within a small Japanese cafè really appealed to me, as did the selfishly long descriptions of the actions of pouring the coffee and the aroma and tastes。 Great lengths are taken to describe the welcoming and minimalist decor of the interior。 The characters in the novel are quite abrasive and generally give stark, monosyllabic dialogue which makes some of the back and forth conversations slightly challenging to gain insight into the characters。 However the book being divided into 4 short stories with the same characters moving in and out of these was really intriguing and a very memorable way of writing。 Some stories gained more of my interest than others, some were quite thought provoking and emotional。 All in all the unique storytelling experience of this book and the memorable setting and descriptions used made it a joy to read。 。。。more

SO FUCKING GOOD

Lo

a cozy, atmospheric read。 maybe not my favorite (I'd give it a 3。5 or 3。75, rounded up to 4 stars) but definitely grateful to have read it。 Each chapter feels like a different story, and some I liked better than others (my favorites were the second and third chapters)。 definitely a unique book with loveable and realistic characters and an interesting premise。 I really liked the writing style despite it being translated。 a cozy, atmospheric read。 maybe not my favorite (I'd give it a 3。5 or 3。75, rounded up to 4 stars) but definitely grateful to have read it。 Each chapter feels like a different story, and some I liked better than others (my favorites were the second and third chapters)。 definitely a unique book with loveable and realistic characters and an interesting premise。 I really liked the writing style despite it being translated。 。。。more

I had a patient recommend this series to may saying that it was just sweet and interesting。 I would agree。 This isn't my typical read, but it was just a neat difference of perspective。 I had a patient recommend this series to may saying that it was just sweet and interesting。 I would agree。 This isn't my typical read, but it was just a neat difference of perspective。 。。。more

Well there are many mysterious things had to be clarified it this novel, like why on earth has to be this chair which do this transportation through past and future, and what happened to the current ghost when a new one take its place? I mean physiclly ofc。 Beside it was claiming that nothing will change no matter what u do in the time u travel to, but still this girl whose her sister died did go back to her family and worked in Their tavern or bar or what so ever the place that she inherited fr Well there are many mysterious things had to be clarified it this novel, like why on earth has to be this chair which do this transportation through past and future, and what happened to the current ghost when a new one take its place?
